In the past many horrible battles occured, A time where the phrase "War is hell" was coined.  In this war there is no where to run, no where to hide, no escaping the bloodshed that took place.

A excerpt from General Maxmillion's journal.

"The attacks keep coming, we have been able to hold Gustav Bridge longer than expected. The attacks have increased all around the land."

In the next area the forces of Norax, Cult Brigade, Orcish Empire will attack towns on a timer.  The location is random, based on chance. Will able heroes jump into the madness to beat back the invasion?

After quite a while of being non-functional, the old CTF scripts have been restored from a very old backup and fixed up to work on the current server.

A world of Mystery
Written by Golbez

2000 years have passed since the founding of the town of Crendale.  A peaceful age had finally arrived but it was not always peaceful...

A month after the founding of Crendale a massive war broke out all across the land.  Some of the bloodiest battles in history took place across the grasses of Crendale.  The Kingdom of Norax still feeling the toll of the Tisera war forged an alliance with The Cult Brigade and The Orcish Empire to launch a global assault spanning from shore to shore.

Babylon became the first victim of the war, survivors either took refuge in The Sanctuary or assisted the forces of Dragonia on various fronts.

While this war has been raging on mysterious noises can be heard coming from the underground.  What could possibly be down there?  Did the war awaken something that had been sleeping for millions of years?

In the next area heroes will be traveling back to the past where an all out war has been raging on for a month.  It is in the past where you will find familiar lands as well as new ones.

Lands that appear in the past.

Calindori -  It is said that the Ancient Ice-god once took his vengeance upon Calindori sinking it below the surface.

Shadecall Bog -  The effects of the Calindori disaster flooded the bog wiping out everything leaving behind no trace.

Nazgaia/Orcish Empire -  A land to the far east which the orc's built their empire on.

Moonfall Highlands/Desert - The Cult Brigade took over this land out west.

The Sanctuary - Currently a refugee camp where many from Babylon have fled to.

Fire City of Crags - Fire elemental city that currently has taken in humans who have been displaced.  These actions have caused the Ancient Ice-god to become bent on conquest against the world.

Plunder Island - Pirates base of operations, they seem to not be interested in the war and have continued searching for treasures.

Shrine of Uv'atiu (1-3 part quest) - A place that has been shrouded in mystery.

Phoenix Caves(quest) - Located inside the volcano, rumor has it that many go there in search of treasure but no one has made it out alive.

Kair-Norax - The realm of Norax, the kingdom has a barrier on the outside that prevents anyone from entering.

This is the area where level 80-85 will take place.  You will not be able to level past 80 anywhere else but in the past world. Leveling to 85 presents two new challenges.

1. Your not ever going to be safe.  The leveling spots are more condensed in full pk area's meaning not every mob in the past will give exp.

2. This leveling is old style leveling, no more 500-1k exp for one hit mobs,  these mobs are a bit tougher.

* Errands have been brought back except this time they are called something different.  Each errand will provide some new currency/exp for doing them. Some errands will also give you a item reward.

* Three raid bosses can also be found in the past but it will require a little effort to be able to fight them.

Two big changes that happened.

- A new starter area has been implemented which goes much deeper in detail than the old one about the game.  You can choose to leave the newbie island at level 11 or you can be forced out at level 30.

- Cleric's no longer need living essences to cast res on people. 3 raises per cleric just isn't going to cut it in the new content.  You might wipe that much just getting to the first boss.  The res spell now needs 100mana to cast.

The new area is coming along well,  it is mostly finished.  We are waiting for a few coding updates and balancing the new gear as best as we can.

Raid Boss Unleashed!

Volcano Island is the home of a new powerful raid boss, the Fire Lord Lavos. The treasure room is sure to draw the attention of some of the hungriest Odyssey players. But it's no simple task. Lavos has a spawn timer of about 26 hours and only allows a maximum of 5 players to enter. Experiment with different setups, but be sure to bring at least one cleric! The map leading up to the raid is designed to be PK oriented and to give a strategic advantage for defenders. Be sure to come prepared with ranged classes, as the terrain is especially suitable for projectiles. As we develop more features, be sure to expect even more compelling raids in the future. Good luck!

New Monster System
Written by remote
Sunday, 04 July 2010 14:46

We've added a new monster system.  These new monsters are very intelligent and are found generally speaking in Golbez's new quests.  These monsters have an automatic target acquisition system.  If they do not have a target, they will look within their site range to find one.  If they wander into sight range of you, they will attack even if you have not moved.  They will also always choose the closest target, so if you try to lure it away or make a player wall it will attack the closest player.  Wiggling, luring, and sacrifice/res and other ridiculous laming tactics will not work on these monsters.

So how do you beat these monsters?  Fight them.  If you get low, run away and let someone else start taking the hit.  We have made these changes to make Odyssey's monsters more than just silly obstacles.  Monsters are now worthy opponents.  Work together to defeat them!
